Hey fellow Cali-mers! So, when October rolls around, I work at the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor haunted attraction. I've worked it since the good company took control in 2010. This year is looking REALLY cool, and I was wondering if any of you lovely folks would be interested in coming through? I'd love to go myself, but I'm working there. ;)

If you DO want to go, I can save you 20% on tickets with the coupon code "DHCAST197" if you buy tickets online.

I don't know, I talked to some of the people on the Facebook Cali Pod group, and a couple are trying to set up a trip to go. I think it'd be awesome to see some of you there, if you're close enough and can afford it! The maze I'm in is called "Deadrise", and I'm at the top of a stair set wearing a gas mask and jumpsuit with the sleeves rolled up.

So yeah, just a thought for any of you mers 'round these parts that might want a night out of fun in a spooky setting! Let me know, I think it'd be fun!

I may be going! Heheh, I was wondering how you get to work on these haunted houses? Scaring people for money? Dream job over here

That'd be cool! Hope you do!
It's actually fairly easy! I started at a city haunt my friend ran, then did Sinister Pointe for a while before leaving for the Queen Mary. The application process is usually pretty different at the different attractions, but the Queen Mary's is pretty straightforward.
At Dark Harbor you go in to audition to show what you can do, then it's just paperwork and then where they decide to put you! At Dark Harbor we have a main cast list, and then a backup and standby list. So there's a pretty good amount of spots available. Usually they start auditions in August or September each year.

Haha good news, I can scream like a banshee  In any case, my brother and my dad went last year, so I think I'll join this time!

I love haunted houses. I worked in one for many years. I don't get to go to them as much as I'd like. I wish I was closer because I would love to go to this one.
