I am theAfanc, a Welsh mythological creature that lives in a lake and is sorely misunderstood by those who live nearby. I was just minding my own business, playing in my lake when they say I caused a flood. They tasered me and moved me from my home and now I am sad and lonely. Be my friend?

I am also a 22 year old university grad with a Bachelors in University Studies with emphasis' in Theatre and Electronic Media & Film. My dream in life is to be an exotic animal trainer for Hollywood and I will get there any way I can. I am a heterodemisexual panromantic female, although my internet persona is genderfluid and I am happy with any pronouns (he/she/they/it/ta).

I started my RP career with Dungeons&Dragons 3.0 when I was like 10. When I was 11 I found a cool cat site on yahoo groups that taught me what warriors was. I read the books and never looked back. now, a decade later, it is still the only thing I consistently have muse fore. I still do table top RP, though we have shifted to pathfinder because way better.

I have a 6 year old husky/shepherd and I am hoping to adopt a kitty in the hear future. In the past I have had rats, fish and frogs but they have all passed.. I also have an alligator but more on that if you ask me.

I am in the SCA as well, the college of St. Vlad in the Barony of Ered Sul int he Kingdom of Atenveldt whew. I find it kind of unlikely but if there are any other SCAdians here let me know o.o I do archery and rapier and when I have the money may some day do hardsuit. I craft all the things imaginable (like literally all the things). my persona is a runaway Romani hunter/trapper and I am waiting to hear back on my name and device submission.

I am ALSO a furry with 5 current fursonas, one of which is also translating to my mersona so woo for connections. I have a cow, a rat, a fox, a flying squirrel and my Afanc. While I do not currently have any fursuits, I have a cow hood that gets me by for now.

I am a wushu athlete and I've been training and competing of nearly three years now. I am also a crafter - I knit, crochet, do chainmaille, 3D origami, sew, bead weave, wire wrap, scrapbook, scale maille, bead looming, leather working and a ton of other things I've forgotten. I've played Sousaphone for four years and I really miss it. I've also played cello since third grade but without access to one now I am super sad.

So the stuff that actually matters. I am a merbaby, I've never been in a tail but I am incredibly interested in it for the fitness aspect. I have been interested in free diving for an embarrassingly long time but I live on a mountain without many pools or oceans nearby so my access to water is slim. I am Hoping to get a quality mono fin that I can build a tail around :).

Ooh, where do you role play? I used to do a ton of RPing online! :)
Oh and I also took two years of xing yi quan before I injured my shoulder, and our family practices archery with our local SCAdians (we do Pennsic too, do you?). Sounds like we have a lot in common!
ETA and the next thread I looked at, I see that you're a belly dancer too. Are you sure you're not my good twin? (I call dibs on being the evil twin, yo)

Soooo first things first I am not a belly dancer no way no how never ever. I have tried dancing and nope. I am a drummer for our dancers :P

i have only been to one war and that was Estrella this last year. I can't a ford a lot of travel but. Am hoping to do Pennsic within the next few years.

along with wushu I also do some tai chi and we are trying to work on chi gong, Sanda, Jian fencing and a few other things but we are a school team branch and out parent school/coaches live two hours away.

I have found In the last hour or so of browsing the forums that this group of people are exactly me. I've found some people who cosplay and some who sign and some who play instruments and am just wondering how I didn't find this much sooner. You can be the evil twin, although if the merFanc is the good twin I'm scared to see the evil one o.o

I haven't done much rp in the last few months because of time but most of what I prefer is either Warriors or post potter. Most of my rp was done on proboards and jcink, although at one point I had about 20 Facebook rp accounts xD

Ah, sorry, misread that. :). Funny thing... After ten years of dancing I thought I'd be pretty good at martial arts, right? Well..no. Not at all. I sucked. Two entirely different skill sets! Sounds like you've got a talent for the other one. :). I hope to get back to tai chi myself. The xing yi was a little too much for my 40+ frame.

yeah, the folks here are great! I felt like I'd found my tribe when I got here, too. Don't let some of the negative threads get you down, it's not like that most of the time. I've found nearly everyone here to be supportive and very free with advice and good humor.
I didn't know FB let you do role playing. The last online game I was in was on Livejournal. Shows what an old fogey I am... I played Sybil Trelawny for a good long while.

No worries. I am a jack of all trades so I do a little of everything but dancing really is not my thing. I am interested In Gymnastics again but I can't dance. Well actually, I took a ballroom dancing class that was a lot of fun!

One of our college members is a Pennsic goer so I am hoping we can go soon. What time of year is it?

There are negative people in every group. We get a lot of creepers in the furry community but I just ignore the. And keep swishing my tail. I'm sure it will be no different here!

Facebook doesn't allow it. There is a one account per person rule so a lot of fb rp gets shut down :(

Pennsic is always the last weekend of July and first weekend of August. You can read more here: http://www.pennsicwar.org (http://www.pennsicwar.org) It's really the only official SCA thing we do, apart from the run-up event Aethylmearc War Practice. Though the local SCAdians are happy to have us practice archery and (lately) axe-throwing with them.
I had to laugh at the "I craft all the things." That's almost exactly the sash I would wear at the NC Mer-mania gathering: "I make ALL the things" (along with my daughter, "I trail glitter.") That's quite a list of stuff you do! I knit, sew, embroider, do dimensional beadwork, beadweave, make soap, perfume, body stuff, and of course make my own food from scratch (but only when I get the itch...rest of the time I'm too busy adulting), down to grinding my own flour when the mood strikes me. I made chocolate once, but it was terrible. My husband's sash would read, "If my wife can't make it, I'll build it." We'd probably be homesteaders if we weren't so lazy and disorganized and didn't live in a city...

Haha, that's fantastic. I forgot I also bake and make food from scratch too and embroidery and maybe more xD. I took a wood shop esque course but didn't really do to well so building is t really my thing. But I sculpt a little and resin cast and I want to do wood burning and glass engraving but I don't have the tools yet...
