Paddle Gloves?

I don't even know what they are called... I have been looking at swimming gloves for some time now, even before I knew mermaiding was a thing and i was curious of anyone uses them? I feel like they are even more out there then trying to pass off goggles but because the suit I am designing is a unitard full body suit, I think I can use the gloves and it will actually add realism to the design. But unless they were a continuation of like arm guards or gauntlets I couldn't see them making much sense for a typical mer.

So maybe I'm reaching here but does anyone have experience?

I know Raina has worn the second style of webbing, and they looked pretty convincing underwater in the photographs.

I've also made my own pair out of spandex and latex, which look like this. They aren't too difficult to make if you're a bit crafty.

I love the webbed look from far away.
Do they aid in swimming at all or is it just for the webbed look?

I've tried them too, and they do help quite a bit! They're good for helping you stop and change direction more efficiently. They do make it hard to keep your fingers together if you have your arms out in front though.

Unfortunately not, there are several sizes, although there is a fair amount of stretch in them. They're really cheap on eBay though, so it doesn't matter too much if you get the wrong size.

I got the plastic ones from eBay, and it had a size chart, so I went for the small. I have really small fingers, and I hope when they arrive they're not too big. ^.^ Ill tell you how well they work when I get them. *fins crossed*

I bought mine off amazon (the translucent ones).

They said size S is for children and size M for "delicate small women's hands".
As I have long hands and even longer fingers, I got size L and they're a tad loose :(
However, I couldn't guarantee that size M wouldn't be too small and restrict the bloodflow on the fingers.

I won't be getting them in another size as they don't do anything for me swimming-wise anyway and are only good for underwater photoshoots.
