Mers of Inspiration - an art series

Hi everymer!
I have begun a series of drawings featuring mers that have inspired me.
This community has inspired me so much and I wanted to celebrate that in the way I can. :)

I've started with Mermaid Raina because she is one of the first mermaids I saw online when I began my mermaid search. She inspires me with her overcoming of invisible illnesses and for the work she does for our cause - mermaiding and the ocean.

Next: The Winged Mermaid - the lovely Mermaid Iona.
I tried very hard to capture the depth of her beautiful tail and the lovely abalone top. I hope I did so.

Perfect! Thanks a heap Lunette! I'd totally forgot Hannah Mermaid. Her's was the mermaid tail I ever saw.
And yep Pearlie Mae is definitely on my list when I find a good full photo of her tail.

While speaking of of this art series, my lovely mer-friend encouraged me to ask if anymer would be interested in me opening art commissions for my drawings? Love to hear what everymer thinks?

You saying that seems to be a reinforcement of something I should be do. Maybe people both in my personal life and viewers of my art have also said I should illustrate books. :D

I working on a children's story idea at the moment actually, which will be about mermaids! So I'll definitely let the community now if it happens...

Hi Kelda, currently I work on A5 recycled paper as this a comfortable size for me, which the exception of my first two drawings which were larger. Currently I can only have paper for commissions A5 and A4 sized. I can order in larger sizes if you like, it will just take longer. If this size suits I can give you some pricing quotes. :)

Indeed they have, but being that I mostly have drawn female figures in the past, I'm not sure how well I'd do drawing mermen. :) I've certainly got plans to give it a try though!

That's some great work, I love your style! I can tell you I've been thinking of sending my son to art class because I think it's a good way to develop imagination, but he chose to get into self defence class singapore (https://www.ktma.sg/tkd-classes-self-defence/). Of course, for me, it's better to make sure that my son is into something he likes, so I've decided to get into drawing myself, and I hope that I'll show you my works soon.
