Hey you all! Brand new merperson here. My username is short for merperson (I'm androgynous) but I changed the "per" part to "purr" because I also love cats. :D I found out about mermaiding a couple of years ago but ones I saw all had silicone tails and I knew I would probably never be able to afford one and forgot about it. Then recently I stumbled across the subject again and this time discovered fabric tails and I was like, "YES!" Now that I can afford! Plus I do a lot of sewing and making my own patterns so I could make my own tail just for the cost of fabric and supplies.

I love swimming. Taught myself how to swim around 3 or 4 years old by holding onto a rung of the pool ladder and kicking my legs to stay afloat. It wasn't long before I was doing cannonballs and flips off the side of the pool into the deep end. My mom's joked that I could swim before I could walk. Some of my favorite movies as a kid were Splash and The Little Mermaid (both the one narrated by Richard Chamberlain and the Disney version).

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and learning as much as I can!

Welcome! Fabric tails are the bomb. I've made 6-7 now, a few for sale, and I love them. They're much much more convenient than silicone or latex tails. However I'm a crafter and eventually stared making a silicone tail myself. But I fully intend to keep using my fabric tail when I'm done. They each have their perks!

I can't wait to see what you come up with tail-wise!
