Hi everyone!
I'm seventeen, live in the caribbean and love mermaiding (which should become an official verb). I got my first tail from Magic Tails three and a half years ago and am secretly working on spreading the rumor of there being a mermaid on the island — and it's starting to work. In all seriousness, I love being underwater free of wetsuits and scuba gear and feel so strange when I'm swimming tailless. It's like my feet are powerless. Anyone else get that?
My mother is a professional photographer, so I've had quite a bit of experience modeling underwater. Because of this, I want to upgrade to a silicone tail. I've been saving up for it for a while (always knew I wanted it) and am hoping to get a design finished and order placed sometime next year. In the meantime I'd like to practice my freediving skills more to make modeling sessions easier.
Besides mermaiding, I write fiction — preferably on the slightly fantastical, tad gritty side. I watch a lot of shows, wish I read more books, play the Sims, cuddle cats and face paint. The last is my big hobby and it would be awesome if I could upgrade to alcohol-based paints and start doing underwater body paint shoots. I was also diagnosed with high-functioning autism as a child and because of this have a slight obsession with mental disorders and the general 'negative' side of psychology (though if you're settled in life as an auti can be awesome), which tends to pop up in my writing a lot.
Well, that's me. I'll start browsing this forum for inspiration and hopefully a little help soon. It's great to be around 'my people' and finally become a part of the community after four years.
