Hello everyone! I am planning on making my first swimable fabric mermaid tail and I wanted to know what monofin would not only look best but be compatible with a fabric tail. I would love everyones input.
Thank you :)

That depends on what you want to do in a tail.
Do want to do a Speedy Gonzales and zoom all over the pool like you're on fire coral?
Or do a lazy daisy and swim slow, smile dreamily and wave at random strangers?
And the flukes... Do you want classic fish tail with the Y shape or more inland fish with the paddle tails?

I agree with Jaffa it depends on exactly what you are going for and how you will be using the tail. It also depends on what size fluke you want and where you will be swimming at. A lot of mers like smaller, floppier monofins for pool swimming and large, rigid monofins for ocean swimming.
Pretty much every monofin can be used in a fabric tail. You can even cut a monofin or extend it to give it the desired shape that you want.

I use a Triton (kid-version of the Hydra) with all of my fabric tails ;)

Have you looked at the Merfin by Oceana? It is a decide Y shaped fin with a decent kick but still works real great for the Lazy Daisy swiming. Plus it flows in the water absolutely beautiful. If you want a picture of what it looks like it a tail look up Iona's purple spandex tail.

Or the Mirage Rubber Mermaid Fin. It will fit into Fin Fun, Magictail and other fabric tails where the fluke is that kind of shape. If you decide to buy the tail and all.
