This is a Merbella Studios lot which includes a beautifully designed Merbella's scale top which is covered in glitter and a stunning lace design. Also, included is the Merbella Bride's Merbella tail. This tail sports the Oceana fluke with a size small adult (us size 6-8) Mahina MerFin mono fin, straps are still intact. It is perfect for both open water and pool/tank swimming. The tail has minor wear and tear on it ( see photo of the small white spot on the fluke) pigments to fix this will be sent. This tail was always cleaned after every use and stored in a dry temperature controlled environment. This basic tail design and micro scales have been discontinued by Merbella Studios. It was featured in the original Merbella for a day photoshoot, as well as, the video catalog featured on Youtube. Included as well is a beautiful Siren Allure double sided headdress, I am discounting this headdress as it is missing one shell. Items Included:Merbella Basic Tail with Oceana flukeMerbella strapless scale and lace Bridal topSirenAllure double sided headdressPigments The design of this gorgeous tail is as if Ariel, Little Mermaid were to have her wedding under the sea, the perfect Mermaid Bride! The strapless scale top is size 32DD and you can add a bra extender to make it into a 34, 36, or even 38. I have had two other models wear this top who were sizes 34B, and 32C and it fit them. Keep in mind silicone tails are able to stretch. The heights of the models who have worn this tail are 4'11'', 5'4'', and 5'6''. Size of tail is a small/medium or 4/6. Measurements of the tail: Length from the top of the atlantean waist to where the scales stop at the the fluke: 45.5 inches Length from the top of the atlantean was it to the bottom of the fluke: 53.5 inches Length of waist across the tail: 14 inches
Pricing: I'd prefer to sell the lot together for $1350 or best offer. Feel free to message me with any questions!

Honestly I think you should lower the price. It is a fairly older tail. Raven sold new basic tails for 1600$ by the end.
But for whoever buys it they should contact Raven. She always like to keep in contact with people with merbellas tails and can often do upgrades

...yeah it's just... I followed up on this with this. Tail was 1k, the other cost was for the merbellas photo shoot. And the tail is close to 3 years old and some fo the features were thrown in for free.
So I think if you lowered the price for the lot you'd have an easier time selling it off. It's going to be tricky to sell after the holidays as well. Most people are pretty broke. Best bet is to try and sell it before then. I'd honestly suggest 1k for the whole thing. Tails depreciate by a few 100 every year. (we actually worked that one out with an accountant).
Just my two cents! Good luck.

That was kind of inappropriate to share?
Even if Raven shared client info with you as a friend, it probably isn't something that should be publicly posted?
I don't know... if someone wants to buy it at this price, the seller should be allowed to sell it at this price. If it does not sell as fast as the seller would like, then they can decide to lower the price later if they want to.
Just my two cents...

Agreed. There was no reason to share something publicly that was spoken in confidence.
$1450 isn't that much more then $1000 when you consider the extra stuff you're getting. YES, it is older and needs a bit of repair, BUT if someone just wanted to flop around for fun or have a tail for photoshoots, this is brilliant. (Especially when you consider how rare it is from a merbella tail to have the lace accents on the hips and whatnot).
Best of luck selling the tail, the price is fine (though if you lower the price to sell it faster, or sell the set separate, I wish you luck in that too)! :)

the tails were publicly advertised at 1k back then, I just wanted to confirm before posting (since I don't post things without proof). It's on Merbella's old FB info- hardly confidential. I think people should know the value of something their buying and not be over charged. That's just me though!

If someone is comfortable paying that much, for what they're getting, that's fine. I just think they should have all the info to make a decision. There were some older internet posts I found saying the tail cost more than it did. Perhaps since her husband bought it for her as a surprise she didn't realize how the cost was broken up. but IMO 1000 for a 3 year old tail (which new is only 1k)and top (which new is only aprox 200$ (https://www.facebook.com/MerBellaStudios/photos/pb.178589958863759.-2207520000.1450036335./922885084434239/?type=3&theater) or so ) and head dresses which tend to be 50-100$ new but are usually given as a freebie... would be more appropriate. But if someone is willing to pay 1450 then good for them. If they feel it's of that value, then that's their prerogative. It just seems you could get it all new for that price
The post has been up for a month and a few people have backed out of buying it, so that's my suggestion and reasoning to get it to sell!

I can appreciate your reasoning, but your closing statement of "It just seems you could get it all new for that price" is unfair since that style is no longer offered.
I also feel that perhaps the price could also be worth it to someone to have a merbella tail now instead of ordering a new one with a year+ wait.
It is kind of you to use your experience and knowledge to look out for other members, I was simply trying to offer up a different point of view.
At the end of the day, a luxury item such as this is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Whoever that someone may be.

I believe that some of the numbers shared on this thread are a little off. While discussion is obviously welcome please refrain from posting your own opinions on how much I should sell my stuff for. I have no need for your “opinions” or “help” with selling my items.
If you are interested in what I am selling and feel as if it should be for a different price then please message me with your offer. That is why on my post you will see a part that states, "or best offer." If anyone does not understand what "best offer" means than please follow the link I have provided. http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/best-offer.html

I think Aysun still makes some good points with the wait time and the fact that this style isn't offered. We do appreciate your points, Raina, but you still have to take everything into consideration.
Its like with vintage items, someone paid a small fee for them new, but rarity and time (while it does wear on the item) still need to be factored into the resell value.

.... Interesting. No one thought it was rude throwing in their cents on the thread selling an Adam martyn tail, or loads of mertailor threads. I mean, pointing out facts of what something did cost especially when that info is publicly out there already. If it was mertailor, you'd be crying scam.
It's cool, I don't mind being the bad guy on this one. I think it's rude to mislead people on the value of your item or mark it up.

Sorry guys, I have to agree with Raina here. Most of the threads I've seen there has been some discussion of what a used tail should cost based on a lot of factors. I've seen loads of people say a tail was listed for too much considering what it was sold for, what condition it was in, or if the person selling it just didn't know where to start pricing, ect. People post a lot on what they think a tail should cost if they believe it to be over priced. Seriously, go look through some of the threads- it happens all the time. Happens all the time on FB too. (I look through the threads often to keep an eye on what has been sold, what hasn't, and if it hasn't if I can give any advice such as, "It's priced too high" or "You need to list measurements" ect. I also try and find "tail for sale" posts on FB to share them on the MerNetwork FB page.) I've even seen multiple instances on here of people seeing a tail sold for more than it's worth, and saying they felt bad for the person who bought it for paying too much.
We allow people to post those kinds of comments on sale threads so everyone has information on what they're buying and to keep people honest. BUT if the person selling doesn't want to take other people's comments into consideration, that's fine. Seller's market and all that, they decide in the end. If you think it costs too much, don't buy it ;)

I believe a good portion of the issue was the way it was phrased. Bit...condescending IMHO. I don't like or want drama, but wording is important and I don't want anyone feeling bullied.

Lol I'm not bullying anyone
My posts were as generic as possible. http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?p=227412
Actually pretty much just factually based. Though I have had zero contact with Alexis outside of the posts in this thread, I've seen some messages she's sending people saying I'm bullying her / talking to her. But that is untrue. Simply ask her for screenshots, because there are none. I do not have her as a fb friend or talk to her in any way shape or form.
So if we want to talk about rude, how about throwing around the word bullying? I take personal offence to that coyote walker. Perhaps you don't understand what bullying is. Because suggesting my very neutral posts are bullying, undermines people who actually deal with bullying.
In my experience anytime someone is caught in a distortion of the truth, their only means of defending it is by trying to discredit the person bringing forth the truth. In my case, ya'll mad I posted the truth. So in an effort to deflect away from that conversation you try to discredit me and make the conversation about me, suggesting I'm singeling out Alexis.
Sorry, but there's 11,000+ posts that disagree with you there. I typically ALWAYS comment where if I know the facts and someone else is misrepresenting. Specifically I have commented on loads of threads where people have tried to sell things for more than their worth.
So no, not bullying. I hope you take some long consideration before throwing that word out again. Especially over a fairly benign forum reply
You can be mad I made my replies and even accuse me of being rude. But that isn't bullying.

I used that word because that what it felt like to her.
Facts are fine. I never said your facts we're wrong, just that other things needed to be considered in the price. Your presentation was what bothered me. Also, in my opinion (based on personal experience) if someone feels bullied by someone else, then there's probably a reason. Maybe you saw it as just facts, maybe you thought you were being direct, but you don't know her. And you don't know me. So if someone you don't know says you're bullying her, or otherwise making her feel uncomfortable, maybe it's you who should think about it. Forums are fabulously anonymous. Even when we "know" each other like on this one in this small community, text can still be misconstrued. You must be careful on that because at the end of the day, *you don't know them*. I know what being a bully is. I know how passive aggressive works. I know how such subtlies can seem polite and "just the facts but are really much more". You're a wonderfully well educated person on the mermaid community, you business model is something to be envied, I respect you and any of your advice towards enacting such a business. You know your stuff, I'm not and never will deny that, but please be more aware of your wording.
Yes the tail was only $1000 to begin with. Yes the top was probably only $200 or whatever. However there's not that much wear and when you factor in getting the instant gratification of having a merbella tail without having to fight the wait time for getting on the list and THEN the wait time for having her make the tail...well, I'd take a few dings for that. Not to mention that it's a model you don't see very often. We never said you we're wrong. Just that there were other things to consider. You just never considered them. You escalated this, and probably made it harder for her to sell them in the way you phrased it.

The tail was rush ordered without being charged rush. See, there's lots of things you don't have knowledge on either. Literally everything you're trying to call me out on, could be directly applied to you. I think it's funny you think I didn't consider those things. I only own 3 bought used merbellas tails
Gee what could I possibly know about buying old tails? ( one that is older than Alexis and two made at the same time) it is actually laughable you'd suggest I'd be ignorant to anything related to merbellas tails lol.
You don't get to just decide something is bullying, sorry. Your replies escalated it. I never called anyone a name, just presented facts. When you continued pressing me, I continued presenting facts to back up my points.
There's nothing wrong with my tone. Alexis got caught, doing something the community usually isn't cool with, so she got defensive and passed that tone on to you.
Like I said, if this were a mertailor post, you'd be fine. It is only different because she reached out to you about big bad Raina.
Iona can feel free to move this to the drama thread.
I have no guilt and I make no apologies. I don't really care if you continue calling me a bully, because it is just a cop out and lots of people see that. And those who don't? Usually do over time.
