Greetings from the Hudson Valley, NY! I joined the forum over a year ago when a friend was talking about getting herself a tail. Me being me wondered why she couldn't make one, so I set out to learn. Found my way here and my own interest in mermaiding grew. Bought my first monofin last spring and had a blast with it. I have had ideas for a full tail bouncing around for a while, but life is never cooperative. My niece however has become fascinated with mermaids of late (she's almost 2 years old) and it has prompted me to stop lurking in the depths and introduce myself. So here I am. Hi! ;)
My mersona hasn't fully developed herself yet, but the beginnings of her story are squirreled away for once I've given her form. Like most who live in a colder climate I wish I lived somewhere warmer. My local indoor pool allows monofins but unfortunately their schedule and mine do not line up well, so no winter swimming for me. And of course with the holidays coming... yeah. May need to hit the gym as a preventative measure.
Oh, and call me Dee. It's easier to type than my username, and it's what my niece calls me. How she can say my dogs' name but not mine I just don't know (although I'm better with animals than people myself so who am I to argue?).
