I have my monofin ready and waiting to go, so at least I don't have to worry about that very much.

I've been playing with an idea on how to create my fluke, with a plastic dress bag for the body, and different diameters of rubber tubes to make real ribs down the body, but everything is only theoretical at the moment, might end horribly, hopefully not though. I plan on putting snaps in the bottom of the fluke, under the ribs, so I can take the monofin out, but the snaps should be pretty well hidden there. Should make it easier for putting on and taking off, instead of closing the bottom.

I'm hoping to use painted neoprene for the body, but I might just use painted fabric instead, sewing the neoprene seems a little intimidating at this point.

Thank you! I should hopefully be able to buy some of the materials on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, WalMart doesn't have rubber tubing (I was guessing I would have to go to a hardware store for that.) Or the dress bags, which was a lot more surprising to find out. I got off work to late to check anywhere else, but I'll be checking out Target and Lowes when I get the chance this week.

Looks like it will be around $37.00/plus shipping for everything for the fluke and fins from Amazon, which is good, couldn't find what I was looking for locally.

I'm kind of dying over goliath tigerfish right now, I want a fish tail for sure, but I don't know which fish. Maybe these guys, or maybe clown fish or something. Haven't decided yet.

It's been a long time since I've seen a clownfish tail, I bet that would be really cute! Those fishies look more on the 'menacing Mer' side. So I guess it comes does to what you want the overall feel of your tail to be. I'm sure that either one would look fantastic!
