Hello there! It is a privilege indeed to be here among other mermaid lovers and swimmers. I've loved mermaids back when I was a little girl. I recall watching The Little Mermaid in theaters and from that point on I was hooked( ha!). I made tails for my dolls using those lacy girls socks and stitching on fins. Made up so many stories. When I went swimming I pretended that I was a mermaid. I got really good then with the dolphin kick.

Now I am a graduate student at the Guildhall at SMU studing art in gaming design. Soon to be job hunting! I am currently trying to 3D model and print my own line of dolls. The first being a mermaid with various different fluke designs as well as a double tailed mermaid. I may even try to model my own assesories and bra tops now that I think on it. Now that I graduate next Saturday, December 19th, I will have more tine to persue other endevors. I didn't realize mermaiding was a thing until someone posted a silicone tail on Facebook and a friend sent me the link. This prompted my research and I was thrilled to discover more about it. This was a year ago. I waited till now to order my tail because Guildhall took so much of my time.

My first tail will be a Fin Fun Mermaid tail. I haven't settled on a name. So far I love Reea. But this might change. Now I just got to wait for my tail to arrive. If anyone lives in the DFW area i'd love to meet up for a swim. :)

It's named after my unicorn mascot and short for Moon Lightning Designs. You can find me on Deviant art moon-lightning. :) I role played as the unicorn Moon Lightning for years in a forum. Now that I am a mermaid guess I need a Mermaid name. I think I settled on Lunaria. Keeping with the moon theme.

Thank you. I used unity for my first games in my undergrad. We did use unity for the first game that I did for Guildhall. Then we moved on to UDK for our first person shooters. Our capstone game, Inua, used Unreal 4. That is an amazing game engine. I believe it's free to use now.
As for modeling I prefer 3DS Max. I can't believe I graduate next Saturday. It is like oh wow I can't believe its real and finally happening. :) Putting the final touches on my gaming design portfolio website. www.amandastanleyportfolio.weebly.com. Feedback is always helpful.

That's awesome! I would like to learn more about game design at some point. I've used Autodesk Inventor and Maya, but that's about it aside from some architectural ones. I'm reallllly rusty though. Also I was horrible at C++. I can read it and figure out what's going on, but if someone asks me to write code they can forget it haha.

Also congratulations!!!!

The only feedback I think would be at some point to invest in a not Weebly site since its just easier to type in name.com instead of name.weebly.com or stuff - better for marketing, know what I mean? And it shows that you value your work seriously. Also if you host with other providers you could do a lot more fancier things, like even add in sample gameplay or something, and it'll be all neat and in one place :3

Yeah I was waiting until I get the funds to buy the domain and drop the weebly. That way I could then add interactive 3D where you could use this applet to rotate the model. I could also add video. But that is waiting until funds come in. Had to drop a lot of money to get Adobie CC for our school license ran out. *sigh*
