I was wondering if anyone knew if a material that is sort of in between spandex and neoprene exists? Something thick enough to smooth out details but still wearable for warm weather dry shoots? And that comes in a good variety of colors?

I knew of someone who was going to use Darlexx. I've never worked with it but it seemed to be similar to what you're looking for, except you'd have to paint it and it would take a little experimentation. :/

At Spotlight - they sell something called Scuba Knit. It kind of looks and feels like a very thick jersey I think. That might work. I'm not sure if it would be called something different elsewhere than Australia.

Spotlight! I haven't heard that in a while. They had one in Singapore but I think they shut it down a few years ago :(

Neoprene can come in 1mm thicknesses, and its not that thick. But the Scuba knit is thicker than spandex.
