New Mer from Dallas

Hi there!

I'm a new mer from Dallas Texas! So excited to have found this site/community/way of life!! I've been obsessed with mermaids ever since I saw the play Peter Pan as a kid (I was also for a time convinced I could fly....the results were mixed). I actually work at sea (for real) on cruise ships, so most of the time I'm on the open ocean. As a matter of fact, I am writing this post from somewhere off the coast of Chile at the moment. I love to travel, study foreign languages, and try new things (especially new foods!). I'll be back on land again soon, and hope to meet up with some mers during my vacation so I don't get too land-sick :D

Absolutely!! We've seen TONS of sealions here! On sunny days they stretch out on the rocks by the pier. We even had a few that camped out on the stabilizer arm of the ship while we were docked!! cutest stowaways ever! When we were down by the tip of the world in Ushuaia I saw a penguin swimming, and whales are always out in force! There were two putting on a show last night while were were sailing through the fiords!

That's so amazing. I imagine it's probably a ton of work, but it still sounds so cool and interesting to live on an enormous ship.

Oh awesome! I love cruising and I mostly cruise on carnival and holland america.
I've even taken my tail on a carnival cruise.....which is a chore trying to get it through security!
