Mermaid Blankie Tails!: The Solution to Mermaiding in The Winter in Ice Cold Water

This Christmas I’ll be getting the coolest gift ever from my mother! Ever wanted to go Mermaiding in the Winter but couldn’t because the ocean or pool water was too cold, or even in a heated pool, just didn’t want to because you didn’t want to have to get back out into the ice cold air? What’s a mermaid to do?! I think this is THE ULTIMATE alternative to Mermaiding during the Winter months, not to mention the ideal way to be a mermaid in your home. I used to wear my swimming tail and fin all the time when I felt like, “being myself,” and that was just plain impractical and uncomfortable. Now I have a completely awesome solution! I can’t wait! I assume I’ll probably end up collecting all the colors, too. I think my favorite part might just be how the feet fit into the bottom of the tail! How snuggly and warm! It puts the Snuggie to shame! Whaaaaaaat! I didn't know a company started making these! My best friend sewed me one around this time last year, but it was sewn off at the feet, which would've been cooler, but it also has a drawstring top and it's long enough to go past my head, it's kinda like a little cocoon :cool:

The concept had never even crossed my mind before! I can't wait to get mine! My mother ordered me the Pink & Periwinkle one, which was the one I asked for... Not sure why, as I usually go with blues, greens, and aquas with all my tails, but for some reason I just really wanted that pink and dark blue one! They're made to order so it won't ship until the 21st. If my mom ordered priority shipping, it should arrive by the 25th, but if not I guess I'll be getting it after Christmas day (no big deal). I'm SOOO excited!

Me wants a mermaid sleeping bag, for the days or weeks that for some reason or other that one can't go swimming. I want to snuggle up inside my cosy tail like a snail!

Me too! The gym pool nearby is heated, but the lap lanes are really shallow, and I also hate having to get back out of the water and into the freezing cold air. Plus even though it's heated, it's still a shock to the system to jump into. I'm one of those hate-cold-water types, so I'd rather just express my inner mermaid in a blankie tail while reading my Nook. They definitely beat Snuggies, that's for sure!

I... Have no words for what this thread has become.

On the mermaid tail blankie side I made a clownfish one earlier this year and gave it to someone very special as a birthday present. Forgot to take a picture of the finished product of course because I got so excited about sending it... But overall the thing was exceedingly simple to make.

Oh and I got the mermaid blankie for christmas! It's wonderful! So comfy! And since your feet can slide down into the tail, you can walk in it, lol :lol:

I love how the footies can go into the tail cause you can actually walk in it if the need arises, lol. And the body portion (not the tail) is REALLY big... But that's a good thing... I can cuddle up on my side in the fetal position so comfortably and just go to sleep - with the tail neatly spread out on the end of my bed so that it looks like there's a mermaid sleeping there!

I have one (the blue and green one), and I absolutely love it. It is my to-go-blanket, always ready on the back of my couch. However, it is not comfy to sleep in overnight in the bed. I used it once to try and break out a sweat because I was sick, and it felt restrictive on my legs and my hips when I tried to move, although when you are awake it is very big and has lots of room.
