Good news for the waters of North America. On Dec. 28 the "Microbead-Free Waters Act" of 2015 was signed by the White House and will become effective in 2017. It bans manufacturing, importation or use of microbead-containing products throughout the United States.

In Canada, the Federal government was in the process of banning nurdles.

The regulations weren't completed before the October election though, and are on hold right now. Canadian mers can help by reminding MPs of the need for this ban.

Microbeads? I call them fake exfoliators! The ground up apricot seeds have more ooomph than these cheapo plastic beads.

i think scrubs and lotions should stard using tiny seeds instead. idk its just that i always loved smoothies with strawberries in them because the tiny strawberry seeds reminds me of the microbeads
