Back from a long Hiatus - Lanai' NewYorkMermaid

[New York Mermaid]

Hey everyone,

I figured its been a while time to reintroduce myself since there's been a mermaid population explosion on the forum lol. Im Rose, But you can also call me 'Lanai, I have been a professional mermaid for what's going to be 6 years in February. Born and Raised NYC girl, actually from Spanish Harlem, and yes im fluent in Spanish as well.

I apologize for the long hiatus alot has been going on within my family and work and im usually lurking here and there, Im soon to retire my position at the marine animal rescue. But will take on a position as Marine mammal guide for a company that studies/surveys the whale/dolphin population in New York. I also sadly lost Paulie, many who knew him as my long time parrot who unfortunately succumbed to undetected metal poisoning. (found when it was too late) a few days prior to Christmas. And my mom has Alzheimer's, yea pretty much those are the biggest things.

-Im working with many people now to start a non profit program for kids with special needs,

-Working on a big partnership with some local mermaids/mermen.

-New tail will be debuted soon (either January 25th or the week after- cause I am stuck going to a wedding for a weekend in Southampton LI), The company is a very amazing and SUPER PATIENT team lol I must have changed my design like 7 times.

- Im also hoping to be apart of Kariel's mermaid mission sometime later this year. (and plan for one of her Tail of Art tails) Just keeping myself busy as I should be..

But I've told many people and the invitation extends to everyone here- if you're ever in New York let me know, I'd love to meet you guys. If you have any questions as well, feel free to ask or message me as well. Im not a shy mermaid and I do my best to make you feel welcome..

do you do meets in which people can some swim with you to learn from you so to say. Like better swim tectonic or looking better under water ?? Just just swim with you cause your kick ass o__o . I am near bloomsburgh so your only a few hrs from me ^_^

I do on occasion have people who just want to swim with me which is okay in my book :) I have only taught a few kids here and there. Many parties I handle the kids are well versed in swimming and also use life jackets

I *might* have sort of stalked your Facebook page a while back, (ok, I'm a fan) and I noticed you had posted this really great idea about compiling sweet and inspirational stories from mers into some sort of collection? I loved that idea! Anyone of us that has performed for children I'm sure has at least 1 (if not a dozen!) stories regarding the sweetness of children and our heartwarming experiences with them. I'd love to hear any updates you have on this project!
