How to change your username

Whereas in the past name changes were performed manually by the admins, we have now installed a new feature to give users the ability to change their username themselves.


Rules:
Users may only change their name once.
After a name change, please add "Formerly known as [old username]" to your signature.


How to change your username:
Go to Settings > Edit Profile > Edit Username


To check if a name is taken, you can see a searchable list of all members if you click on forum > community > member list, or go to http://mernetwork.com/index/memberlist.php

Hi apologies if it's not great to dig up this old thread but I just used the feature to change my username. Is it alright if a name happens to be similar to someone else's? It seems there's a whole heck of a lot of really good names these days that someone out there is already using much like how many folks have the same first name. I apologise (profusely!) for having changed mine before realising there was a rule, though tried to make it noticeably different to the other Alaria. I think I'm in a pretty different area to the other mer far as I know too, if that helps? Should I leave her a private message? Just want to make sure I don't step on anyone's fins!

Hello, I was just wondering why the limit for how often you can change your username is 10,000 days? That seems like quite a while, and since last year (when I changed my username to what it is now), I've ditched the username "Saph" on every website except for this one :lol:

It’s supposed to be that you can only change it once, and the 10,000 day limit covers that fairly well, since I can’t imagine someone sitting on a name for 27 years.

From what I seen, the only fix is to log into the full site and change it in settings.
