Mermaid Miracles MIA?

Does anyone know what happened to the webseries Mermaid Miracles? It seemed to go missing in actions very quickly. They were known to have somewhat long breaks in between episodes but then they took an unusually long break. I checked back about two weeks ago and half their episodes were deleted. Then I checked back today and all the episodes were gone and they changed their banner image.

Does anyone know what happened? I know they had some actor discrepancies a little while back but I didn't think there was anything enough to warrant a removal of the series altogether. It wasn't my favorite series but I admired a lot of the work and creativity put into it and wonder what happened.

Not sure. It was one of the older running series. They had put out a video explaining why they weren't making anymore episodes. Then that was the last I saw of them.

yeah everything been taken off their YouTube channel even the theme song. it just the videos of Maya getting her mernation tail, a thanks for the views video and one of Maya swimming.
its sad that they may have disbanded.
the show was pretty good, yeah the writing was a a bit wonky at times and the story line seemed to be all over the place but it was a nice little series.

aw, that's said. again, not the greatest series but I loved the camera work and just having something mermaid related to watch. I wish they had at least left the series up even if they didn't plan to continue it :'( it's unfortunate that they felt the need to trash the videos because they disbanded, but maybe things got kinda bad and they didn't want any reminders left?

I never watched it, but I am surprised they took their videos down. That must be a disappointment for their fans who assumed they could rewatch it whenever they wanted. It also means people can't discover it after the show ended. It does seem like there may have been some sort of conflict.

Also, I'm surprised they deleted the videos. Even if it ended, they should have kept them online for others to see. Plus I think Miracles did a few kickstarters for production, fans might get upset that the videos are gone.

Aww man...Just came across this thread and now I want to watch it from reading you all talking about it. :( That is too bad that the videos were taken down. I definitely would be pulling it up right now.

The correct answer to the original question is that Mermaid Miracles stopped production because Maya's parents got a divorce, which is not only emotional hard to deal with but also financially difficult. Making Mermaid Miracles was an expensive hobby, so the parents had to stop making it. Also, because they wrote Chad out of the show, Maya was receiving some really nasty hate mail, so she pulled her self off of social media. That 's the real sad thing here, that young people can be so nasty to someone regarding something they have no clue about. Meanwhile, the episodes were part of the divorce and they had to come down while things were being sorted out between the parents. I do believe that someone has posted the episodes on their site, although I really doubt they have Maya's permission. I wish the family well as I know all of you do too. It is nice to finally have an answer. I read this a long time ago, but didn't have an account here then. I just don't understand why the video where they explained it was never allowed to be seen by anyone, it seemed to be put on private right after it was made. The only reason I know it exists is because the twitter page for Mermaid Miracles posted the link to it. I can see the parents working out ownership of the episodes being a reason for them not being able to be viewed anymore, but you would think a video explaining things would be a good thing to leave up, just so they wouldn't have to deal with people digging around trying to figure it out and asking them questions, since I doubt that a lot of people will see this thread. I just hope one day Maya feels safe enough to come back to the internet on social media.
