Facebook seems to slowly but surely eliminating the function of "use Facebook as" function. This is the thing you use when you switch from using Facebook as your personal profile, to using Facebook as your fan page.

It use to be it was as simple as this:

35803

You click the drop down menu, you select the page, then you were browsing, commenting, sharing, ect, as your page. Not anymore, they're eliminating this. They're taking their sweet time it seems, there have been people who have been switched over to this new way for 7 months or more. I just got switched over in the past week.

So for any of you who have run into this, you might be confused. I know I was, I thought it was some kind of glitch! I had no idea why I couldn't use Facebook as my other pages anymore. But the same thing happened across 2 profiles and 3 different browsers, so I knew it had to be some new thing they implemented, and I was right.

So here's how things work now, or will work in the future if you haven't been switched over yet.

To view your page's feed, you go to your page (using the "Pages" link on the side, or the drop down menu) and click the new "View Pages Feed".

To like another page you've navigated to on your personal profile, as your page, click the ••• box at the bottom right of the cover photo. This will bring up a drop down menu, click "Like as your page". Then select the page you manage that you want to like it as, and click "save".

35805

To like and comment on something as your page (and you're not the new Page's Feed) click the box with the profile picture. This is at the bottom right for commenting or liking on existing posts. If you're wanting make a new post on someone else's page, as your page, the box will be in the upper right corner of the box. Either way, click it, and select the page you want to act as.

35806

To share someone else's post on your page, or to share a post to someone else's page posting as your page: click share, then a box will come up. There's a drop down menu on the left and the right. "Share on a page you manage". Then the a box will come up, select how you want to post. You can post to your page as your page. Or if you manage multiple pages, to share to one page you manage posting as another page you manage.

For example, here you can see how I would share this to MerNetwork's page posting as Iona the Mermaid.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion with this! The new way is a lot less intuitive and user friendly than the old way, for sure. I have no idea why they're making these changes, but like any new Facebook change, we just have learn to live with it.

Huh mine has been like this for at least a year. I've always had the option on comments etc to choose a drop down of my page and either comment or like. It appears on news articles too.

I honestly find it easier instead of having two newsfeeds. I'm used to it now

Odd, some of these changes have been made on my account, but not all. It kinda looks like a pain in the butt, but I suppose we'll adjust and it'll just be the new normal.
(That's my finger in the screen shot, hahaa!! Thanks for liking my page!:))

Oh wow! Thank you for sharing this with us, Iona! I get lost on my social media pages as it is, so I can't imagine what I would have done, had this change happened without this heads up!

You are a lifesaver!!!
