Hi everyone, I'm glad to have found this forum! I'm a circus performer diving head first into the waters of professional mermaiding and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My name is Tess, or Tzla(tess-la) my stage name. I'm a circus sideshow performer and traveling tattoo artist. I've been drawn to the ocean and swimming my entire life, enough so that I decided to take a course on freediving.

It was a life changing experience for me, I cant explain how natural diving deep below the ocean feels to me. My first attempt at static breath hold was 4:30 and I tried again right after that and made it 5 min! My instructor said he had never seen any female do that without months of training and encouraged me to pursue an instructor course. My current personal best depth is 30 meters with a breath hold of almost 2 min.

After that liberating experience I want to combine my natural freakish talent with my years of professional performing to create a one of a kind circus sideshow mermaid show!

Like every other girl, I've been drawn to the beauty and myth of Mermaids my whole life (I even have a huge tattooed sidepiece of an art deco mermaid with her sea lion protector) Mermaiding seems like a natural fit for me!

It is immensely inspiring to read about the journeys on the site and I'm excited to get to know the Mer Community. Since I don't know anyone else who is a mermaid maybe some of you could give me some advice on what you would like to see in a circus mermaid show, so I can start practicing. I am predominantly a sword swallower and fire eater, so that is what I would like to base my performance around. I am also learning some escape artistry as well, so maybe incorporate my breath hold into that?

Any comments or advice are greatly appreciated! Thanks
