Latex allergies

I'm not sure if this is in the right place so I'll just leave it here.
I work with a company in Utah and I have a latex tail. I can't work conventions and I have to confirm with all the parents at a birthday party that there are no latex allergies in the kids, because of the tail. I can't afford a silicone right now and it would weigh me down in the water.
Does anyone know of a way to cover a tail with anything so the latex isn't touchable? Like a light, tight plastic cover?
Is this even possible? Or am I just making this up?

I don't think it is possible at all to cover a latex tail seeing that nothing but latex will stick to latex

silicone is really bouyant it wouldnt weigh you down in the water. Even covering latex up, it erodes over time leaving pieces behind :(

:/ so my best bet would be to sell it and use the money for a silicone?

That or get a nicely painted neoprene tail.
