My breath holds are getting pretty good but for the life of me I can't pop my darn ears. Anyone have any tricks or tips? I want to be able to dive deeper darn it!

Squeeze your nose shut with fingers, close your mouth, and blow hard. (Not too hard.) Many new divers take a while to be physically able to adjust their ears. My best advice is to do this often -- BEFORE you actually feel the pressure. So, if you feel pressure at 10 ft, do this at 5 ft and again at 10 ft.

I'd recommend the suggestion above. With time (and luck) you might even be able to figure out which muscle you use to pop your ears and be able to move it individually without pinching your nose (I have slowly acquired this :) )

This is so silly, but standard methods dont work for me. When I am desperate I drink something carbonated so it makes me burp lol and for whatever reason the burp helps the ears clear!

I just dont do it often because carbonation bothers me. but like, if I go on a plane and come down and my ears wont clear, that's my trick!
