Oh hi everyone. I guess it's time for me to post a thread about my new series of silicone tails, as they are now officially in production! I have four friends lined up that I am making test tails for. I've been talking to each of them and planning their tails since before I even thought I'd be actually selling tails, so these will be done first before I start taking orders from anyone else. I won't be posting too much of their designs myself but they're free to jump in and post updates and design ideas if they desire. Anyway, all four tail designs are very different but each one is creative and exciting and unique and I can't wait to get them made :D

Aw shucks, thanks guys :3 I can't wait to share new things with you all! I'm still working on all new sculpts/molds so I don't have anything ready to show yet, but as Moongazer said, I'm going to do my best to haul arse and get hers done in the next month. Cross your fins for me!

I'm finishing up a top order (because can't neglect that) but I went out today and bought a ton of new supplies with the first down payment so this week I'll be working on my new scales and building and testing new monofins!

*flail* I just discovered a much more satisfactory way of doing the scales than what I'd been testing/practicing....so yay they look better now, but foo I have to scrap what I did previously because now I hate it :P But at least my new technique should go a bit faster and be less frustrating in the long run. *grunt* At least having taken a week off to go visit family in Australia last week really refreshed me creatively and now I'm less stressed and pissed off than I was before.

I've been kinda flying under the radar lately but I have a few little sneak peeks I'd like to post. Firstly, a closeup shot of my newest scale sculpt, featuring the largest scales I've made so far:

Molds of this have been made and I'm currently working on some color tests for it.

Here is my previous iteration, smaller scales, which I wasn't completely happy with because they looked too uneven. However, I do use this mini scale swatch mold to do lots of color tests. Here's my most recent example....I am pretty sure I have achieved the most realistic, lifelike silver scales to date ;D (This swatch looks a little sloppy but this was just a test to see how well the silver would shine)

And finally, something I mainly made just for fun but also to use for color tests, dis wittle baby fishie tail fin! Prettified with a super-shimmery pigment which I searched far and wide for, because it makes me happy:

Don't bother asking me what it is because I'm not gonna tell :P I spent waaaaaaaaayyyy too many hours researching this shiz to find exactly what I wanted to give up this trade secret.
