Mermaid Melusine

So I've been working on a project for the past year and I've made some significant progress with my team but I'm stuck. We're working on a video game with a main cast of mermaid/aquatic people as the characters, and I'm really stuck on choosing a color pallet for a character I've been developing. I thought, who would be better to consult than a forum of merpeople?
A little bit of background: Her name is Yemaya, after the Goddess. She is an audiomancer who uses her voice to cast spells through song. She was a hero in the past. She has a calm and collected personality, and is very motherly in her ways. I want to give her a very fluid, floaty look. I have an idea in my head already but I'm stuck on her coloration. She's an anemone woman, and has flowing tentacles for hair that resembles dreadlocks. I want her hair to be super long and her skin to be dark. I'm almost going for like a more modern version of the goddess if she was somebody's wise and powerful mother. I want her clothes to be cooler colors with lots of flowing fabric almost like a hippy art teacher would have. I'm thinking dark blues for that. I don't know what type of anemone I should base her off of though, or what coloration would look better for her design.
Here are some that I was looking at:

(i think I might be leaning more towards something like the second image, with her hair fading between colors and her skin having a warm red tint to it like the bottom part of the anemone)
I'm open to other suggestions too if you guys have any or like another reference or something. I'm just super indecisive... bluh
