Hi Mers,
Kostume Kult's Horned Ball (http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?eventId=6538615&pl=webhall&dispatch=loadSelectionData&refid=whsite) will be an amazing Underwater themed event coming up April 9th at Webster Hall in NYC that I thought you should know about! I'll be out of town myself (and have no affiliation with the event other than being a fan of Kostume Kult's work) but wanted to share for mers in the area.

Kostume Kult is a Burning Man camp who is all about costume fashion and this year is a steampunk under the sea theme! FYI burners go ALL OUT when it comes to costumes and themes, so don't be shy with your mermaid ensemble, you will be sure to see some of the most amazing wearable art ever! Plus lots of music, interactive art and sea themed activities. Btw you don't have to be a burner to go, burners are all about "Radical Inclusion" so all are welcome, especially mers! Hope some of you can make it!

Below are some details from their facebook event: (https://www.facebook.com/events/485930291595872/)

This April, please join Kostume Kult for our largest ever horned spring bacchanal ever! Channeling Jules Verne, on April 9th we plunge into the sea with a steampunk adventure to the Lost City of Aquatis and its wild variety of sexy and strange HORNED creatures… And our Philly friends Space Pirates!

THEME:
While HORNS of any type will suffice, to play along with this year's theme, come as steampunk explorer, horny pirate, mermaid, aquatic retro-futuristic, bizarro deep-sea, mesozoic oceania, tentacles, leviathans, krakens or anything with horns, spikes or tusks. Jules Verne wrote both '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' and 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'… We mash them together with artistic license and many questionable choices… WITH YOUR HELP!

DJs in 3 rooms on 2 floors spinning all the open water flavors:
Nauti-House, Fishy-Funk and Deepsea Bass!
