Hey, I'm relatively new to the mer world, and was wondering if anyone more experienced could help me out a little?
I'm hoping to audition as a mermaid for a park in a few weeks, and I have no clue where to start. I swam on the swim team for 7 years, and I am extremely comfortable on the water. I am tall with dark hair. Are these helpful? I can swim very well in a monofin. I guess my real question is, do I sound like someone who could be hired? (Also another, stupider question is should I wear a bikini or a one piece to the audition?) Thanks advance for your help!

If you are auditioning for Weeki Wachee, I would suggest a one piece and goggles for the swim portion. Possibly a bikini for the second day. I didn't make it to the interview stage, but the audition was fun nonetheless! Contact me if you have any more questions.

Thank you so much! I'm from really far away, so I want to make sure I do well and make it worth the trip :) Any tips are welcome !

I haven't done any formal mermaid auditions, but for my own mermaid self-improvement, it helps to take and review underwater videos of yourself swimming, smiling, bubble kisses, and other moves. I know that ability to make relaxed, natural facial expressions underwater is important. Use or borrow a GoPro if you can. Good luck!

Good luck!
