Dolphin Man

I'm excited to be getting my first merman tail, designed like a dolphin. For my next one, I want a body cast and extension tail. Anyway, several people have posted on Youtube making dolphin clicks. Does anyone have advice on how to practice?

That's a cool idea! I want a dolphin tail in the future too. If anyone finds a good reference I would love to see it

I can, and orca calls, lol Kailani can tell you since we've had random snapchat video clips :D But it takes time to learn, I got the bottle-nose dolphins echolocation and click trains down, I can speed them up and slow them down and open my mouth wide and close it while still clicking.. haha it apparently terrifies my husband lol and i taught it to my new bird as well, who does it now to get my attention in the morning and get me to 'click back'. I can also do orca calls and make the exhale sound. Its kind of fun to do it takes time to learn, you have to take a breath and "close your nose" so air will pass through the back of your throat, you can manipulate the sound by moving your tongue up and down its pretty hard to explain,
but here you go, me teaching Makaio how to purr and click.

Cool! Whenever I open my mouth to make sounds, I end up with mouthful of water!

I can't do dolphin sounds underwater--thats awesome!
When I was a part of Freshwater Merfolk, we made clicking sounds and whistles when performing for certain events. I really enjoy it. For events where there are a large amount of people, or a line, Ive found that being a mermaid that cannot speak human language, makes the line move a little bit faster. You can also have a LOT of fun maing a "Feral" mer-persona. I go by "Kida" when I portray a feral mermaid ("Katey Mermaid" sounds to domestic) and my Kida persona is rather...ah.....sassy. lets put it that way lol
It can esp be fun to speak a dolphin type language when you have an assistant that "translates" what youre saying. I know I've had my assistants come up with some pretty funny stuff! I'll see if I can find a video of one of the Freshwater Merfolk mermaids demonstrating it.
