Casting Call for Mermaid-Themed Web Series

We aim to begin filming next year after crowd funding the series. Primarily, our shoots will take place throughout the DFW and Austin areas of Texas.


Auditions are not necessary for those looking solely to be extras or behind the scenes crew members, but acting resumes and headshots are highly appreciated. No experience necessary.


For larger roles, message me that you are interested in a role with lines and more screen time. We will contact you closer to filming to request auditions and hold interviews. Resumes are appreciated, but not required.


There will be a cut in the budget set aside for actors who show up to shoots that will vary depending on screen time and number of lines spoken.


We still need more costumers, actors, and SFX artists. The majority of our budget will be dedicated to these fields. We have already contacted the incredible Organic Armor and hope to soon have the honor of working with them for a great deal of the main armor for the series. We also have a chainmail worker and a few armored individuals and at least one or two SFX artists on call.


Our director, James Blanco will be meeting with us for filming and we are always looking for additional camera men on call as backups - specifically around the DFW area. Photographers are welcome to take set photos and share in the fun.

So far, we have over one hundred actors, actresses, and crew members including a Visual Effects Expert and a Choreography Expert/Professional Stuntman/Certified Scuba Diver. But we still need more help to make our dream a reality! :)

***Please, note that if you are interested in a speaking role, you will likely be required to participate in expertly choreographed fight scenes by Alan Davidson. He will ensure that they are all perfectly safe, but it's a good idea to go ahead and start training your body now for the extra physical strain that you may experience if you're hoping to land a larger role. Safety is our number one priority.***

Mermaid Casting Requirements:Mermaids will be required to be strong swimmers. The dolphin kick can be taught on set within a shallow, well-supervised area, but it is a plus if you already know that style of swimming and have practiced in a monofin, for safety's sake. We will likely be using latex tails for our extras so if you have a latex allergy, please let us know. It is cheaper than silicone, but with a more realistic appearance than fabric. (Though fabric tails are gorgeous and we love them as well)!
A few of us here are already professional or aspiring professional mermaids, so you will have those who can help you learn, but please be aware that if you are auditioning for a role as a mermaid, we will require these skills.


Plot Summary:
Three young women discover that they are the lost descendants of a dying race of mer-people. Thrust into another world whose inhabitants are slowly being overwhelmed by a mysterious force, they must learn to hone their new abilities and work together to defeat a looming threat.

We should discuss costumes sometime, I'm willing to help but it may be way out of my league. I have made several costumes for myself but not many for other people but I am looking to change that and be able to do commission work so I'd like the experience and some things to put in a portfolio.
