Tail Troubles.....

So, my other half ordered me this tail from China. I LOVED the pics of it. When I got it, I had mixed feelings, then it started growing on me. I finally got to swim in it this last weekend. I LOVED it, BUT, there are some issues with it.....

It's see through when I have it on. You can see my bottoms, and my tattoos.....

After one use, it has "fabric balls" on the bottom of the fluke, and on the butt......

I wasn't rough on it. I was very diligent about being careful with it......

I don't know what to do, or if I can fix it. Anyone have any suggestions? *Edit- Posted Pics*

You can line the parts you want to be opaque with bathing suit lining.
For the fluke, a bit of see-thoughness is awesome though.

I'm not sure what to do about the hairballs, but it looks a bit like chlorine damage-
my bathing suit looked similar after months exposure to chlorine, in these parts it also became very flimsy.

It looks like the fabric is pilling from being snagged. Did you sit on rough cement or was the bottom of the pool not smooth? Those fuzz balls would get on my bikini bottoms all the time when I was younger because I would sit on our driveway which was old and rough. You can try and pull them off with a lint roller, but they might still be attached to the fabric.

That is odd, I doubt you were dragging the fluke across the pool. Maybe it has something to do with the fabric quality and the chlorine. Wish I could help more!

it would only be a visual bandaid solution for the most part, but if you wore leggings underneath it (like has been suggested) and then a pretty netting belt that is wide and lays all along your butt, it would probably help cover up the see through-ness and those spots by the butt, at least while you swim, and perhaps having the belt also be a buffer between the tail and everything else to keep it from getting further damage? also, cute mermaid accessories :)

dunno what to suggest for the fluke though, I'm sorry to say.

It might just be the fact its from a different country and the fabric is reacting to something? Is it covered in fabric paint? That could also be it, especially on the fluke.

Not sure there is a way to fix this though honestly.

No, its not painted, its just fabric. My other half feels horribly about it, since he is the one that got it for me. I'll try the suggestions. Thanks everyone

Honestly to me it looks like whoever made the tail used some really horrible cheap fabric. The fabric looks like it's reacting to the chemicals from the pool. Now for the see through problem you can maybe wear some tights or scuba pants underneath the tail. If you contact Rayne I'm sure that she could help you fix it as much as possible! I'm so sorry that your tail is already having issues!! You have to really be careful of where you order things especially when it's overseas stuff. :(

If I was you I would try to get ahold of the company that made the tail and see if there is any way that you can be compensated because you only used the tail once and it already had issues when you got it. They should of used a liner in the tail as well since it's such a thin fabric.

Yea, that is a sign of really cheap fabric. You are in USA, there are lots of companies that make fabric tails over there, and with good quality spandex too.
