so a little about me i have always loved the water, my grandmother has always called me a water dog haha. i recently found out that merfolk were around and i have fallen in love. one night i was looking at mermaid tails and my niece saw them on my computer and looked at me in total shock and said in the sweetest voice aunt Ashley i knew mermaids were real!! so i slipped and told her that i was thinking of making myself a tail. she ask if i would make her one and of course i said yes. well she starts dancing around saying shes going to be a mermaid. so then my son hears her and begins to cry. i quickly ask what was wrong and he said he wanted to be a mermaid too, of course i told him he could. then the next day my two nephews ask if they could be mermaids too. so my love of the water and mermaiding (forgive me if thats the wrong word) is spreading lol so i see a lot of sewing in my future! anyways im so happy i found this website and would like to think everyone for the great info!

There are lots of merfolk in North Carolina! We held NC Mer-Mania (http://ncmermania.com) here at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (http://www.greensboroaquaticcenter.com) last January and were featured on CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/24/us/professional-mermaids-feat/index.html)!

I saw it online when I first started "researching" but I didn't see the cnn feature, off to research for it lol I cant wait till next January if I am not mistaken. It will be held there again. And Im thankful there are so many merfolk around here, honestly thought i was gonna be the only one haha
