Bringing your tail on vacation

So I searched around and didn't find anything I thought was helpful so...

I was wondering if any of you mers bring your tails with you when you go on vacation, and your hotel has a pool. I will be attending Acen this month and I want to bring my tail to swim in the hotel pool, because I've never swam in a pool before and I've not been able to use my tail the way I like in the lakes I swim in.

The hotel we are staying at isn't one of the hotels that the convention has room blocks in, but it's only about 2 miles from the convention center, so I'm not sure how busy it would be. There's no life guards around the pool, so do you think the hotel would have a problem with me tail swimming in their pool? Would they even find out? Lol. I thought about calling and asking about it but i feel like most people give me an immediate no because they don't understand what I'm talking about Haha.

Have any of you guys had experience with this before? Do the hotels ever say anything? Would it be appropriate to ask?

When I went to Florida, the pools didn't have life guards and I just went ahead and used my tail. No one had a problem with it! I would say go ahead and go for it, and if they stop you during the swim just politely obey. Otherwise bring your tail and swim as much as you like

If you put it on discreetly and get in the water I doubt any of the hotel staff would even notice. As long as you're not splashing around other people I would think they would be more amused than anything if someone happened to catch a glimpse.

That's what I thought too! lol. One of the friends I'm going with said not to bring it because she's worried about space but, I told her to bite it! Haha. I think I'll bring it and if the pool is busy when I go, I'll just set it off to the side and not bother with it. Thanks guys :)

My mum said to not bring a tail to Bali....I still did. The staff didn't mind as long as I could swim and the guests got a kick out of it.

I've taken a tail on vacation a couple of times. I've never been told I cannot use it, except for one shore excursion where no one was allowed to use fins of any sort. This includes a cruise ship and two hotels. None of the places where I've used it had a lifeguard. In fact, the only place I've been told I cannot use it is the community pool, where there IS a lifeguard.

I've never had any trouble at hotels. Actually my friends and I specifically stay at hotels sometimes so we can swim in the pools.
