Recently I have decided to make the jump from fabric to silicone tails. I've been swimming in a tail since I was eight years old, and have had the opportunity to try out many different fabric tails and monofins. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of silicone tail makers that are at the lower end of the spectrum and can be made fairly quickly.

I know other mers looking for a cheaper silicone tail go to MerNation - https://www.facebook.com/TheMerNation & http://www.themernation.com/ (http://www.themernation.com/)
They have an option where you can get a single color tail for $1,700. Many silicone tails start at $2,000 something so they are cheaper than most.

Also I would really keep an eye out for used silicone tails for sale as well. You can get a good deal on a nice silicone tail, provided that you can find one that has your measurements: http://mernetwork.com/index/forumdisplay.php?17-Classifieds

There is also the option of getting a hybrid tail that is neoprene with a silicone coating. Purple Mermaid Studios makes such a tail that starts at $250.

check out Marrowfins I placed mine on a rush order should be done soon so what under three months 800 dollars its a dragon skin neoprene mix he makes his own mono fins from the research I did its the most realistic tail out there *meaning u feel like a fish* for a reasonable price and I got a total of four colors at no extra cost !!!!

whatever tail you pick do research before putting in the money or the order!!!! I have herd horror stories on mertailer fins that they are separating, not getting the order right just doing shitty work all togehter and his are a couple K. Go onto the tail maker review Make sure to read the bad reviews just as much as you do the good ones.

I would totally recommend Tiggs Tails that's who I'm getting my first tail from!

Figi is really kind and flexible. I've been working with her since January of this year and she offers payment plans. Her tails are silicone with fabric backing.

I'm getting my dream tail from her!
