Hi Folks!

Uhh, Dislike having to do intro threads, but in order for you guys to know me, and for me to know all of you, an Introduction is a must. :)

I, I'm Kaylin. My user name here is actually a play-on-words from an online screen name I frequently use. Often time, I use Kaylin Silverfurr, so I simply changed it to "merr" for here. :)

I'm 38, living in the middle of the Canadian prairie, so I don't have access to seas or oceans, but we do have some pretty big lakes here.

Originally what prompted me to sign up here was looking at all the fantastic tails being made by Finfolk, and by following people like Lyrique the Mermaid, Raina the Halifax Mermaid and Merman Arion! I am absolutely amazed at the skills from FinFolk and Marbella's, and I got to "meet" Lyrique last year when I went to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Which all of you should attend. Seriously. So much fun, and I love it.

I've had an interest in mermaid/men since I was little, but its not something that I go bananas over. I like the magic that is associated with them, and I've always been comfortable in water. I can recall times when I made mermaid tails for Barbies and Jem figures, and loved the idea of being able to swim like a mermaid, but it never went any farther than that.

I'm also a cosplayer, and I would love to make a tail of my own for costuming purposes. I've been actively watching the tail-making threads, as well as learning all I can about casting with Dragonskin silicone. I'm looking to eventually make an armoured mer-persona, and will be taking advantage of the free admission to the University gym (which is actually part of our tuition fees) to get back into swimming and working on some dolphin kicks and breath holding. Once I get comfortable with those, I'll look at getting a mono fin.

Anyway....that's me. Hello to all of you! If you have questions, let me know. :D

Hello Aniar! ;)

Yes, 38. I'm pretty liberal with the sunscreen. With all my tattoos, I have to be. :)

Thank you for the welcome!

Hi Kait!

Thanks for the welcome. :D I think I'll be going with a Freshwater Mer-sona, only because...well, location and all. I'm liking the look of Lake Sturgeon actually, and think that the Lake Sturgeon would be an excellent look with an armored mer. I've been working on some tail designs for the future.

And YAY AUSTRALIA! I miss Sydney and Melbourne. I have family there. :)

Hi Mermaid Sarina!

Yes, cosplay is one of those things that once you take the plunge to do, you'll have your next 37578 cosplays all lined up. :P

I imagine it is much like mermaiding though, am I right?

Thanks for the welcome! :)

I actually got into mermaiding from cosplaying. And cool idea for an armored mersona! I'm thinking of ideas for making armor for my mersona too, I just don't know where to start.

Hello Mermaid Celest!

If you're not sure where to start, begin with bracers. They're the quickest and easiest thing to make, and that will give you a base on everything else. You can find Worbla bracer patterns pretty much anywhere now too. :)

Thanks for the welcome!

WELCOME! I also got into mermaiding from cosplay - I didn't even know mermaiding was a legit thing until I saw a cosplayer at a con as mermaid Haru from Free! and I was like :jawdrop:

We've got a mercosplay subforum and also a non-mer cosplay thread, if you want to go show off some of your stuff :)

Hello Mermaid Arabella!

Yes, I've been stalking...err...watching the cosplay sub-form, and have posted there too in the armor section. :) I should post my Facebook cosplay page at some point. I've only got two cosplays though, as I only started seriously cosplaying within the last two years. I do some Steampunk off and on...

OOOOOOOO!. HOLY SMOKES. STEAMPUNK MER. YES.

Sorry, off tangent...

Thanks for the welcome!

Oh yes, there have definitely been suggestions of steampunk mer floating around, along with these goggles (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A1MQ3V2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=29A2VEBHE2JS4&coliid=IXQNMUP703LYT&psc=1) that may or may not be in my wish list...

Actually, my tail maker already made bracers for me. They have fins on them, too!

Hi Mermaid Celest!

Hmm, well, the only other small project that I can think of for getting your tail wet with Worbla and armor would be hip/ thigh panels. Everything else is a bit of a big project. :D

Howdy guys what is up.I am Shan, i was a 25 year old, (Struggle is real), i am formerly from India (hometown), small , and quaint community.I am a self conscious person to start with, but when you get know me personally i get loud and speak extremely fast (lol). My hobbies as of right now are, writing (poetry and short stories), loads of game titles (no limitation), hiking, so that as of 1 week Youtube.I discovered this channel while surfing and became interested, well to start with about the idea of engaging to designers and getting to know new comers from around the world, it's an exhilarating feeling, and i love knowing new places and cultures, evidenced by after i travel i have a tendency to walk kilometers rather than cabbing everywhere.I was an animal lover, specially dogs (dogs are bae), and i love sunset colors, specially the full black color.I are not really of a television set type of person, i find it boring and repetitive.Well that's mainly what i can keep in mind; i hope i will meet new and exciting people. Also visit my website :: digital piano reviews (http://www.mydigitalpianoreview.com/)
