Hi Folks!
Uhh, Dislike having to do intro threads, but in order for you guys to know me, and for me to know all of you, an Introduction is a must. :)
I, I'm Kaylin. My user name here is actually a play-on-words from an online screen name I frequently use. Often time, I use Kaylin Silverfurr, so I simply changed it to "merr" for here. :)
I'm 38, living in the middle of the Canadian prairie, so I don't have access to seas or oceans, but we do have some pretty big lakes here.
Originally what prompted me to sign up here was looking at all the fantastic tails being made by Finfolk, and by following people like Lyrique the Mermaid, Raina the Halifax Mermaid and Merman Arion! I am absolutely amazed at the skills from FinFolk and Marbella's, and I got to "meet" Lyrique last year when I went to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Which all of you should attend. Seriously. So much fun, and I love it.
I've had an interest in mermaid/men since I was little, but its not something that I go bananas over. I like the magic that is associated with them, and I've always been comfortable in water. I can recall times when I made mermaid tails for Barbies and Jem figures, and loved the idea of being able to swim like a mermaid, but it never went any farther than that.
I'm also a cosplayer, and I would love to make a tail of my own for costuming purposes. I've been actively watching the tail-making threads, as well as learning all I can about casting with Dragonskin silicone. I'm looking to eventually make an armoured mer-persona, and will be taking advantage of the free admission to the University gym (which is actually part of our tuition fees) to get back into swimming and working on some dolphin kicks and breath holding. Once I get comfortable with those, I'll look at getting a mono fin.
Anyway....that's me. Hello to all of you! If you have questions, let me know. :D
