Due to a plethora of things going on in my life, my first attempt at making a tail (...back in 2014 I think...) Fell by the wayside and I never got farther than working on the extension to my monofin. Last year, though, was a bust on trying to do ANYTHING with it, having just moved out on my own and having no space, along with being in a bad situation in regard to living arrangements.

The past couple of weeks, though, I got the bug to try and work on it. I've actually finished it (mostly)!

There would be my monofin (..If the pictures work right, ^^") I used the duck tape method to extend and shape it. Different shape this time and I also used zip ties as well to make it a little sturdier.

I didn't get any actual IN PROGRESS pics, but here it is after the first try at sewing! It was a bit too big, even around the fluke. Left me with a crease right along the monofin. :/

I managed to tighten it up decently! The one of mostly the fluke shows the color the best! I had to go with blue, it's a favorite of mine! Not certain yet when I'll get to actually swim test it. Originally was going to be Thursday buuut landlord decided that was the perfect day to have a bunch of people come work on our house. > <

Neat! I love the scalloped edge!

Do you have a zipper in it to get the monofin out? Did you sew the fluke edge closed?

I do feel the landlord issues my friend! Check my tailmaking thread out, you'll laugh at my workspace options :D But still, this is so worth it! I'm loving how you did the edges of the fluke! Please do a swim test and show us when you get to it!

I actually sewed the fluke edge closed. It takes a minute to get the monofin in there, but my fin is actually really really flexible, so it's not as hard as it could be.

moniee, I'll definitely check out your thread! Ultimately most of my workspace now has been the floor of my bedroom (whatever works, right? XD). I MIGHT be able to do a swim test today, either in my parents' pool or maybe up at a huge lake not far from my house!
