Making a sequin tail for a belgian Mersister

In this thread you can follow along with the progress I make on a sequin clownfish tails I'm making for one of my mersisters.

These are the sequins that are being used.

Gold:
20mm, 8 packs of 250 sequins
Silver:
20mm, 8 packs of 250 sequins
Black:
40mm, 4 packs of 150 sequins.

The girl I'm making it for bought these. I'm curious to find out if it will be enough.

I might not seem like mutch but I needed some time to test the best way to attach the sequins.

I also opened up the side seams, it's way easier to work that way

Progress of sewing for 1.5 hours today, I sewing them individually on with my sewing machine. I'll be adding a lining in the end so it will feel nice to wear. The only thing I'm unsure about right now is how I will be able to finish the waistline in a nice way while sewing on sequins.

In total I spended 4h working on this tail today. I track my time on toggl to find out how much time I'm actually spending on this tail. So after 4h, this is the result

Some more progress. It's starting to look like an actual tail. Love it! There is a zip in the back so I will continue to stitch the front and back individually untill I reach the zipper. Then I close the seams and continue sewing from one side of the zipper to the other. Hopefully it will work out great 😇 can't wait to work on it again tomorrow

I am now feeling very inspired to do my tail! I have flat holographic sequins as well and I have been feeling so flat about doing my tail lately! Thank you!:hug:

The flat sequins are super pretty! And really easy to sew on. So just go and you'll have a great tail once your done. It's really worth the effort! When this tail is done I'll be making a sequin tail for me. But first I have to finish my silicone tail

Yay, I can start working on this tail again! I had to wait for new sequins. The girl I'm making this for provides me with them so I had to wait a bit. I'm so happy I can start working on it again. Now i'ts dinnertime and after dinner I'll start sewing again jihaa!

It is a ton of work but so pretty! With your sewing skills you should be able to make a really nice one!

Yay, more progress, but sadly I bought one bag too few of the silver sequins I ordered them again. I was so looking forward to finishing this tail by the end of next week. But now I won't be possible. Hopefully it will be done the week after.

The first pic are the hip fins I just added.

The second is just the front of the tail but it looks a bit strange because of the way the fabric folded.

The third is the back. I am keeping track but the girl I'm making it for is have of my size. I can only fit one leg into it.

And the next tail I'm making will be from the shell shaped sequins so I can start all over again. But the next time I'll be providing the sequins from the start that will be much easier. I'll be buying them per kilo then and sell the remainder in my etsyshop.
