Athena's Silicone Tail

[Mermatron Athena]

I finally finished sculpting my tail fin. I've been molding scales as I go and am ready to start assembling this tail! I have less than 2 weeks before I plan to wear it to a couple conventions and I think I just might meet my deadline!
So here it goes!!!

I have to redo that hip fin. I can't stand it next to the tail, it's not flowing right for me.

I know. Crazy deadline. I meant to start the tail sooner but life happened.

It's a pain when you end up redoing something, but well worth it if you're not entirely happy with the first try!

I un molded the fluke! It's coming along great. I will make my deadline!
I just need to pour like 6 scale molds a day for the next 3 days and I can get it done on time.

I'm doing my underbelly scales and they are so shiny it's blinding! Is there such a thing as too much sparkle???

I've been busting my tail fin getting this done on time for my deadline! I'm soooooo close!

Forgive the messy house, bad pics, and me in my PJs, I've been too focused on the tail for anything else. It's not a great light to show off the color shifts but I'm still super happy with my progress!

Also I did a little super late night video clip trying to show my tail fin, but the video is pretty blah. The scary thing is I somehow captured a voice! It sounds like kids, and then a voice says "It's still working". Everyone in the house was asleep, it was just after midnight, and I peeked in on the sleeping kids as I took the flashlight/nightlight out of their bathroom to try to highlight the sparkle. I did some video clips after and there are no noises. Freakiest thing! Figures it happens the day we signed on for another year's lease. [emoji33]

OMG so one of the most awesome people I meet today was Abby, I just loved her from the start. Such a sweet and beautiful woman. I had no clue who she was; Abby Dark Star (I don't get out much and this was our first convention). She's got a ton of fans and is just super awesome. She shared this photo of me (for the most likes I have ever gotten on a photo lol) and I so hope we do connect to co-create some cosplay like we talked about.
