Socal Merfolk meetups this summer!

Hello all, just a newbie mer looking to get involved in the California Merfolk Community! Wondering where I go to find out about meets and other events.

If you have Facebook, that's the easiest way we set up events. Search for the socal merfolk pod, also the California merfolk pod for all of California.

I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd link, but it's easy using the search bar in Facebook.

I've tried accessing the Facebook groups via search and also via link directly to the page. For some reason nothing comes up or I get access denied :/

You'll have to sign up (join) the groups and be approved (I think), next big thing is the 11th in Huntington beach, although there's been shark sightings, and one person was actually bitten, so it may be moved to another beach (Newport possibly). I applied to the California Merfolk Pod as well. I'm not sure I did everything right, I'm new to facebook (set up an account just for this purpose).
The SoCal pod seems to have vanished. Anyone know what happened?

Thanks. Those are the same links as I tried before. The Cali one works, and I clicked "join group", but so far, nothing has happened. When I try the So Cal one, I get :

In other news, I had a nice little swim at Harbor cove beach at Ventura Harbor last Sunday. When I got out to the marked swimming area, I realized it was the first time I was tail swimming in water too deep to stand in, and without snorkeling gear. I have snorkeled in deep water and a tail already. But this was the first time in deep water with just the tail.

I plan on going to that beach again this weekend, most likely Sunday around 10 to 11.

Are the Facebook groups more active than MerNetwork?

I don't have Facebook, so I can't see any of the groups.

The groups are pretty active. but if you have a mer-friend in them you can ask them to just let you know when people are planning a meet from the fb groups.
