[Mermaid Caspiana]

I want to start an espy shop and I have a few questions. :)
1.) And creative names for it? Mermaidy, oceany, etc. I like alliterationand puns too. Lol
2.) What do people want? I know headpieces, tops, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, ummmm...
3.) Any other tips? :)
P.S.: Admins, if this is in the wrong place, you can move it, I just didn't know exactly where to put it. Lol

1) Great lakes pod, right? You could use one of their names maybe? ie Superior Designs :lol: punny and lake-y!
2) I would love to see more belts on the market, too!! I had to make my own, and it was a total pain because I had to make several attempts before I got it right!
3) Doesn't hurt to have some advertising... I would find some merfolk and give them a free sample ex Raina or Iona or Keris or Merman Arion, (you know, someone everyone just ADORES) and have them give you a review!

Advertise! Get an Instagram account for your shop and use it. It helps so much! And Mermaid Russet's words of wisdom are fabulous. That's a great way to start, and reviews speak volumes! I personally will not buy a product if the reviews are bad, even if the site is reputable like Amazon or another site. Giveaways are a good way to get noticed, a raffle maybe? You could name it Caspiana Cove or something cute like that. :3 Best of luck! I can't wait to see how it goes! Let me know if you need anything else!

A few updates!
1.) I think I'm going to change my name (for professionally) to Mermaid Mika. I think. Lol So any ship name options are still up. ;)
2.) I started crafting the other day. Haha I started a head piece and my new top. (And yes I measured my chest and crap and stuffed it right with pillows. Lol) I'm issuing a more of a sports bra type of bra this time around because big boob probs. lol And yes those crab claws are real. I found them at Myrtle Beach last year. :)

Got a lot done on my top today! :) I'm using E6000, black scallop shells I found on the beach that I adore and always pick up, sea glass, pearls (white, light blue, and gold), and those aquarium tank bead things (I got the big bag of them for .79 cents at a craft store haha). Oh and this irridescent glitter I found at Walmart that matches my tail!!! :) It looks really cool in person because the bra is tan so when the glue and glitter dries it just looks like irridescent skin! =D So excited to finish this one! :)) We're gonna go get aquarium plants soon for my headpiece and other stuff. ;) <3

I'm almost done with my top! =D I just have to cover the back in the irridescent glitter. :) Also I crafted. Haha I made two necklaces out of all natural shells and corals I've found on the beach and well as a hair clip. (I got a bag of several large starfish like these at Marshall's for like $4 last year. :)

I crafted more last night. Haha Not done with the top completely, but I got most of the back glittered and I did a little design with little shark teeth we've found on the beach. :) I also am in the process of making another necklace out of netting and ocean trinkets as well as, as soon as we get to the store to get some aquarium plants, finishing my headpiece. I want to make a few more things too to start for myself and then some to give a few better known mers to get my shops name out there (still need to make it haha) and then start commissioning. :) So here's some photos:

So! Exciting news! My shop is about ready to launch and I wanted to give you guys an idea of what I'll have to offer at first. :)
First I have an art piece, an eye mixed with a dream catcher with splatter paint and framed. Also a sequined top, a child's no-monofin tail, and custom Lexan monofins. :) Once I finish coating my tail and test it, I should be offering custom neoprene, sequin, silicone hybrid tails. I'm so excited! I think I'm the first to offer this kind of tail so yay! Haha But I have to finish mine first. Once I test it I think I'll start taking commissions! <3
Btw, I'll be changing my name (professionally not here) to Calysta (Cally for short for the kiddies lol). So my shop... Calysta's Cove. =D
once I get it opened I'll be offering other stuff like jewelry and other accessories, for example once I finish my new top for myself, it'll go up as a custom order too. Let me know your thoughts! :)

Just out of curiosity how much would a sequin tail commission run? No extra fins or anything and the fluke not sequined (I'd probably paint it). I'm trying to get a ballpark idea of how much I'd need to save for something like this.

A basic tail, custom size, fluke design, and color scheme, no extra fins, 3 colors or less, and silicone fusion would be $600. But if you weren't to want to fluke sequined, I could take off $50-$100 depending on the design. :) If you were to want me to paint it for you, I'd have to add a little back on, but it wouldn't be as much as sequins. ;) I'd love to talk design with you. <3
