Hello everyone. I'm from the western US where I own a children's character entertainment business. I follow a lot of other children's entertainment businesses around the country on facebook forums which is where I was introduced to character performing as a mermaid. I did a ton of researched and made sure to employ former lifeguards and we practiced for about six months before launching. Practicing with my gals was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. We use FinFun fabric tails. We've added some fins and embellishments to dress them up some. I love working with my staff and I love the joy on a child's face when they meet you and ask you all kinds of questions.

A month ago my husband took a job in Cedar Rapids, IA which is four hours from my business. We had to relocate and I'm running my business remotely but I am not able to practice or perform with them anymore. It is really difficult for me but I'm just going to have to be brave and go to the pool to practice on my own. I hope to find friends here who I can convert into mermaids so I will have a swim buddy. Anyway, I look forward to reading posts in here and learning new things.
