Hello, my name is True Blue! Although my mer~characters is Lorelei~
I'm very new to the mercommunity having no idea it existed until about a month ago. I've always had great love/respect for the sea, rivers, streams, springs, swimming ( my skin is very sensitive to the sun unfortunately, so I have to be careful most days! ), and mermaids/melusines. Especially drawing them~ I have many sketches, inks, and paintings I've done over time, making mermaids a regular theme in my work! I also really enjoy costuming and costume building. When I saw the mermaid tails for the first time I was in awe of how magical they were and was very excited to learn one could be made! I'm still working on my mermaid design but once complete I plan to make tails to swim with! My character is a melusine ( twin tailed mermaid; you might recognize one in the Starbucks logo, she's a melusine! ) which I haven't actually seen one here yet...are there any other meusines out there?
For my tails I'm pretty settled on sequin tails as I really enjoy detail work and the iridescence you can get is just memorizing! I'll be studying up in the tailmaking threads for a while, thank you all for providing such great work to learn from and enjoy! Once I'm able I'll be getting a pair of separate flippers to start building up my leg strength and working out a swim style that will work with two tails ( as I'm not sure a dolphin kick will look quite right? Although it might! ).
I'm a full~time freelance illustrator/animator/craftsperson working from Colorado, usa. I live with my wonderful boyfriend John and our two cats~ I love what I do and push to improve and learn new skills anytime I'm able! I do accept commissions for illustration, animation, and crafting services which I hope to make available to this community ( as I would love to draw more mermaids and mermen! )~ I currently have a personal website under construction where I will have my work available to view as well as commission information! Hoping to take a month later this year to get it finished up and properly published. I keep pretty busy with work so here's hoping I find the time!
Anyway, it's really great to meet you all~ Thank you so much for reading! : )
