Hi there. I just bought a Sun Tail Mermaid tail and monofin bundle. The tail cover fits well - I just took it out of the packaging to try it on. But, the monofin does not seem to be working well for me. My foot size is a US 7 to 7.5, and this monofin's straps do not hold my feet in very well. In fact, after I used it tonight, I have sore feet. Is there anything I can do, or should I just sell the entire bundle? I've only used the monofin twice so far for 20 minutes each time. the two adhesive tips have not been used on the fabric tail tips as of yet either.
I don't know if I should regret my purchase or not.

Same. I had to tighten the straps until the fin curved a bit and my feet were still loose.
When it nears to Spring time I'll be gluing on some swim flippers. Why I'm waiting till Spring is because, this winter is cold and rainy. And I don't want e6000 toxic smells in my room. Or curing issues with cold and damp.

Okay, so you suggest getting something glued into place with it. What sort of foot pockets are you putting in? I may just do the same. I'm heartbroken that after two swims I'm getting hurt feet.

I have short bladed swim flippers. They have no ridges on the back of them, all flat. If you can't find any flippers that is flat on the back, you can glue water shoes instead. I did on my other Fin Fun insert and they worked quite well too.
Use Polyzap glue, it sticks better than e6000 on the polycarbonate.

As a side note, sore feet are very common for mermaids, so it might not be just the monofin. Try looking up some ballet foot exercises to strengthen and stretch your feet.

Yeah, after a while with your feet in a monofin, your ankles get sore and tired. At least that's how mine feel.

I understand that my feet will hurt, but they slide around in the monofin and it's confirmed that the one I bought is slightly too big for my feet - I just heard back from the company. So, I'm going to give it another go tonight with the suggestions she gave me.
Actually it's the same problems Mermaid Jaffa had with feet not staying in place due to the straps not fitting correctly. Jessica of Sun Tail suggested putting the straps in an X formation to see if that helped any. From the e-mails, they seem to be working on a prototype for a medium size between the child and adult. We'll see!

Yea, the foot pockets seems to be made for giants! I can stick my hand in there and there's nothing stopping it from sliding all the way to the tip.

I found a way to fix the problem of the feet sliding and the ankles not staying in place! It's an easy fix too. I sewed on an extra bit of the same fabric the straps are and added a clip. It is sewn onto the existing strap and is long enough to reach behind the ankles and secures them. I'll have photos added as soon as I can get my phone to charge. You'll get to see my very uneven hand stitching in white, but it's for utility use - not for glamour lol. I did the stitches in white so in case I need to, I can rip out the seams.

I made an ankle strap too, but I looped mine through a pair of the existing holes instead of sewing it.

I thought about doing that, but I figured this would be stronger. So, here's the photos of the fix - and moving the straps to be an X across the feet.

It works very well! I was lucky enough to see the strap fabric at Wal-Mart and clip.
