Hi everyone, my name is Cerry (pronounced carry). I haven't fully decided to stick with my actual name or go with an alias yet as I am just beginning my mer journey pretty much. I think I finally got my hubby to agree to buying me a tail after our failure at making our own last summer. I am still developing constantly my mer personality. I have been following this website for awhile, but only now have I decided to join and I am super excited! I can't wait to learn from everyone here and hopefully be of some help eventually myself. I live in Oklahoma (:cry:landlocked) and as far as I can tell there are no mers in my immediate area.

We may be land locked but with all of our lakes and rivers, we have more water front than anywhere else. I'm on the lake in pryor, and we go to blue hole a couple times a week. I tested out my monofin there last week.

Welcome Cerry! I'm landlocked in Sacramento, with only a river and two lakes. I desperately crave the ocean! I thought I was alone in my area too, but I found some amazing mers around me and some others that are far from me but that I would love to swim with. As for mersona names, I stuck with my actual name.

That's funny because me and my husband were just discussing places to test out my monofin when it comes in and blue hole is the place he suggested

I hope I can be as lucky as you finding so many awesome mers! I think I'm well on the way!

When is it supposed to be in? My tail should (hopefully) be done by next week and I'll be testing it out out there. Maybe we can swim together.

That would be awesome! I should have my fabric tail in soon, but about 10 weeks for my silicone tail T-T

I'm making a hybrid tail. I've never done it before and there have been bumps along the way but I'm liking it so far. About to start scaling it today.

Neoprene and silicone caulk. I have a thread up in tail making. I'm posting everything I've screwed up on as well as my successes lol

I'm not willing to invest that much $ until I know I can do it lol. Maybe next time. What went wrong?

Oh and I got confused earlier. You said blue hole, but me and my hubby were talking about little blue over by disney. Its been a LONG time since I've been to blue hole.

Doing it with silicone caulk, I'm just using a caulking gun and spreading and sculpting it with a small putty knife. This is my current view in this heat37829

It will be shades of purple

That's my favorite color! I had considered shades of purple but I have a tattoo sleeve that has koi in it so this seemed fitting lol

My silicone tail will be blue. I love blue, green, and purple so I couldn't exactly decide. So I went with the best looking fabric one which is a beautiful purple [at least online] and the blue looks amazing on the silicone.
