How much silicone?

So soon I was be taking on an individual scale tail project and I will be ordering silicone shortly. I'm quite worried about how much silicone I need as my fluke is quite big and I'm trying to figure out what one gallon of dragon skin is because 2 parts. So my question is, when you order "one gallon" do you get one gallon of part A and one gallon of Part B?

You are correct, each part is 1 gallon, so in reality you'd be getting 2 gallons, I see people getting two units of dragonskin, if your fluke is large, you might need to calculate the area of it once it's built, I personally poured 4 kilos of silicone into my fluke, mind you, my fluke is rather thick since I didn't use a monofin, but you can sort of get an idea of what I'm talking about, I think the most silicone goes into your fluke out of your entire tail. One of the scam artists that made this beautiful tail has a great video on this, her name begins with a K...I can't remember it for the moment

If I hadn't had to redo one of the halves of my fluke, I might have gotten away with one order. The slime coat and/or painting will also eat up more than you think it will! All told I used two orders with about half a bucket left over.

If your fluke is pretty big I would go with two gallon orders. Mine is about 3ftX3ft and I needed three trial kits and a gallon unit to complete my tail.
If you have any left over you could always make some cool accessories! :)
