Visiting Virginia, seeking best swim sites!

Canadian visiting Virginia here! I'm staying in the East Beach area and have been enjoying the ocean (so, so much better than our mucky lake)! My husband brought along his GoPro but has been a bit disappointed with the visibility. I'm wanting to shoot some monofin footage, and he's hoping to film crabs. I was wondering if any locals could suggest favourite swimming sites, or interesting places for beginner-level freediving!

To be honest, you wont find clear water in Virginia unless you take a boat way far out. The clear water we do have is in the mountains where the water may be about 60 degrees haha thats why most us do our video stuff down in florida or in pools
