Hi everyone! My name is Marie. I just joined mernetwork. I'm currently living in New Brunswick, Canada. In the summers I do research for DFO and I'm about to graduate with a degree in Marine biology in April 2017.
I have no idea where I'll end up after that but hopefully somewhere warmer where I can continue working in marine bio and hopefully work towards mermaiding professionally.
If anyone has any tips or advice for a newer mer or soon-to-be graduate in an under-funded field please don't hesitate to message me!
Also, if there are any mers in the maritime provinces please let me know what goes on around here mer-wise! I'd love to attend any events etc!

Hi Welcome to mernetwork.

I run Halifax Mermaids/Canadian Mermaids and travel up your way sometimes! I've collaborated with DFO on events locally before. We do entertainment but also a lot of ocean literacy and education work. One of our newest hires is a marine biologest!

If we can get you to that level I'd be happy to refer bookings to you and possibly contract you when our company is hired to travel out that way :)
