Hello, merfriends!

After having several mermaid-related dreams, including the one from last night, where I was with SeaGlass, I have decided to revamp my fundraiser and make it into one for a silicone tail!

*NOTE: I have not even swam in a tail yet, but I DO own a Fin Fun, and I will certainly perfect my technique in it before even attempting to swim in silicone!

My first question to all my expert finfriends is:

I have a $2,000 budget for this beauty. What tailmakers do you recommend? I have loved The Mertailor for a long time, but he seems to get a lot of reviews that are either tons of love or lots of hate. I looked through the tailmaker threads and cannot seem to make a decision!

For the record, I love the h2o flukes as well as the POTC shape. To combine them would be awesome!

I am a plus-size mermaid at about a size 18-20 with a 10-inch difference between my waist and hips :D

If you have any questions for me or would like to help me out with choosing a tailmaker (or donating to the cause!) then please post here!

I would consider Najestic Ent, they can make you a custom tail for that budget :) And Naja is just wonderful......Also Mernation is great!

I was looking at their site, but I couldn't find the pricing for a full silicone tail! Do you have any idea how much it is? Also, do they do custom flukes, or do they only have that one? :)

They do custom flukes! I would contact them thru Facebook or email. I believe there tails start at $1500, but they have lots of promotions where they go on sale even cheaper.

Syren studios is on maternity leave right now but she did Sea Glass's , KateyMermaid's, and Mermaid Callie's ( I think she goes by Calizaire on here) and a few others tails. Her tails look gorgeous.

Also gotmermaid.net who did New York Mermaid's tail.

These are a few I've been keeping in mind for the future

Yup! Within the budget and would totally recommend her. Her tails are unique and beautiful. I looooove my Syren Studios tail. Also, she has a few different fluke designs to choose from, has add ons like fins, and makes matching tops.

Thanks, everyone! Looks like I've got some research to do!

I won't be getting this tail for a while, since I'm still fundraising and all, but I'm so excited!

Side note: what do you guys think of the Mertailor's basic silicone tails? I absolutely adore that fluke shape! It does say "spacer", though, so does that mean it's neoprin and not neoprene?

So Mernation just posted on their FACEBOOK about their new genesis tails. They are supposedly light tails that are $1500.

I love MerNation!

UPDATE for those interested:

As I am trying to make enough money to live on my own despite my disability, I have decided that putting this much money towards something that is not a necessity is, and I am very sad to say this, just not feasible. I have money for a car so that I can get my license in a few months, and then an efficiency will be my next option, as my stepfather continues to threaten to kick me out every time I do something wrong.

I am reverting back to simply raising funds for a neoprene tail, as it will also give me complete customization and coloring control as well as give me something to do and something to pour my heart into for a week or so. Also, I love getting the mail every day, and getting new packages from all of my online orders for supplies would make my day!

You are still welcome to donate here (http://www.gofundme.com/mermaidwhisper) - the goal is now only $230!

All my (mer)friendly love!
