I've been toying with this idea for a while...after reading the post about the Effectlab, it's getting me to think more....I have a vaccuum former and am thinking about doing a mold for a panel of scales that somehow can be pieced together into a tail... I'm going to find some pumpkin seeds and glue them down in rows, then vaccuum for a mold panel and see how they turn out. Also want to try doing the same thing with rows of shell seaquins. Hoping to then put silicone into those molds to make panels.I can make a mold panel about 13x18 inches. Just have to figure out how to glue them all together in silicone on a mermaid tail form...

Who knows if it works out,it might be something that can be easily done and hopefully help others too...

Pretty crazy but hey,I got my pilot's license at 40, now how crazy is that?

If silicone can only be cast in plaster,I have lots of it since I do ornamental plaster and clay tiles. This is my fireplace, that started out as plain brick before I did my plaster and tile work.
