Hello everybody!!!
Short story and quick question.

I am going to the Bahamas soon and want to take that opportunity to collect some beautiful shells to bring back state side. However, I don't know how to transport them safely.

Has anyone traveled with sea shells before? What did you do to keep them safe in transit?

Hey there!

When I went to Jamaica for a week I collected a bunch of shells, and also found a huge dead starfish. I brought them all back and nothing broke. For the shells I wrapped them each in kleenex and them put them in a container. For the starfish (seriously as big as a dinner plate), I wrapped it in my towel and put it in the middle of my luggage and made sure all the clothes made nice padding :)

Oh and a tip, Make sure to rinse anything you find in hot water first, otherwise they can get a little smelly.

Hope this info help :)

That is incredibly helpful!!! I'll have to make note to bring at least one Tupperware container for them 💖

I put my one in a little basket then sealed it all around with cellophane wrap and then wrap the all bunch in a towel , all the shells arrived in one go :) No broken soldiers .
