Would this work? Monofin

Would there be a way to put the monofin on top of your feet instead of beneath? It would make a better angle, and the way you swim, it should be an extension of your legs, not your feet anyway...
does this question even make sense?

I have thought of this before. Hard to say for certain what effect it would have, but I suspect it could make one be able to swim faster since you would be able to hold your legs out straight and have the monofin straight as well. However, one would have to adjust their kick to accommodate.
