Hi Everybody,

So I wanted to introduce myself, I am Cayman Mermaid Bubbles. I am a new mermaid based in the Cayman Islands. I am a Padi certified diving instructor and an IYT boat captain and just recently got my mermaid instructor certification. I am currently working towards my free diving instructor certification, fingers crossed. My husband and I currently own a diving company in the Cayman's called Grand Cayman Eco Divers, where our main focus is to regrow coral and plant it back on the reef with our coral nurseries. I am also adding a mermaid branch onto the company so I can teach people how to safely and properly swim as mermaids. I purchased my silicone tail from Mertailor and I absolutely love it! I'm very excited to join the mermaid community and hopefully I will get to meet and swim with you all in the future! Here are some photos of me with the other Cayman Mermaid Amphitrite at the Sunset House Dive Center. 38613

Welcome to the Mernetwork- it looks like you're having a blast! I'm so envious of your location. I'm landlocked in the States with a few okay lakes around. But when the winters come...NOPE! Haha! That said, I am ecstatic to hear that you teach others how to properly swim in tails. I'm a heavy supporter of expanding the mermaid schooling business (even if I'm not yet at a place to teach myself). Your tail looks lovely. And is that statue in the lower photos real or edit in? It is impressive!

Aw thank you! I know how you feel, I am originally from St. Louis Missouri but have been living in Cayman for the last seven years. I can not do cold anymore, haha, and cold water there is no way. The statue is real and is about 50 foot down. I had a team of three divers to help me pose and take the photos, it was not easy, but the photos came out great. 38641

I can't handle cold and I live here! Haha! The winters in Ohio are INSANITY. We had SNOW. IN APRIL! I would love to move somewhere warm because the water is never that sort of warm. You know what I mean? The struggle is real! Overall, it sounds like you had a fintastic time and you definitely got some phenomenal shots! I have a question (if it isn't too personal) did you hold your breath and resurface or were the divers providing you oxygen.I would assume the latter for safety reasons/time but you never know! Either way, I'm sure it was an unforgettable experience!

Oh my gosh snow in April! Isn't that against natures rules or something, if not it should be, lol.
I went down on scuba equipment, I'm still working on my breath hold and wouldn't have been able to pose that deep. But this was not easy either. My husband and I had to practice in the pool and also practiced in 15 foot before we tried this. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this unless they are a diving instructor (not a dive master has to be an instructor) or are under the supervision of an instructor. Because if you hold your breath and float up to the surface it can cause yourself to get a lung injury.
